NHBC Celebrates Grand Opening of Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building — Las Vegas HEALS
A community aspiration for generations has become a reality with today’s grand opening of the Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building. The official grand opening was marked by a ceremony at the state-of-the art, 135,000 square foot facility, attended by the private donors that drove critical funding and those involved with implementation of the project, UNLV leadership, special guests, and public officials.
The new facility is located on a 9-acre site at 625 Shadow Lane. It is situated within the Las Vegas Medical District, a collaborative effort between the City of Las Vegas and the Downtown Las Vegas medical and healthcare community.
Developed by nonprofit Nevada Health & Bioscience Corporation (NHBC) and designed by TSK Architects, the Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building broke ground in late October 2020 and took less than two years to complete. It is the first ever to bear Kerkorian’s name, who was a philanthropic and business trailblazer in Southern Nevada and whose legacy carries on.
